IT Support services have returned!

GLD Enterprises Communications, Ltd., a 22-year-old advertising and public relations agency, based in Jamestown, Ohio, has resumed the IT and technical support arm of the business as of August 1st of this year. The firm will offer a limited technical support service including on-site troubleshooting, installation and repair of Windows and Apple hardware for residential, home office, and small business clients.

GLD Enterprises Communications, Ltd. merged with its sister company, Deer Computer Consulting, Ltd., in 2015 and continued to service existing tech support clients. Started in London, Ohio, in 1997, Deer Computer offered on-site support for computers and related technology, throughout southwest Ohio. Services ranged from hardware upgrades and software installations to tech consulting and networking support for small businesses. 

Once merged, GLD Enterprises Communications, Ltd. continued to offer a limited technology service under the parent flag but has moved further away from that to focus more on content marketing, video and audio production, and public relations.

“Deer Computer started as one of the first on-site, in-home technology support firms in this part of Ohio,” said the founder of both companies and CEO of GLD Enterprises Communications, Ltd., Gery L. Deer. “We are just going back to our roots. It is important that our clients understand the integrated relationship between their technology and their marketing. Communication is impossible without it.”

One support line that will not be available from GLD is “managed services.” A popular solution option from most IT companies, Deer feels it’s high cost and detached model eliminates the one most important variable in technical support – people.

“Most companies have gotten away from on-site support services, particularly for home users, in favor of cash flow-generating ‘hands off’ monitoring,” Deer said. “But the pandemic proved that remote workers, families, and small businesses still need someone who can come in and see how and why they’re doing what they’re doing and provide the best solutions.”
